A serious incident at an apartment building in Larnaca has come to an end, according to Police, after a man of African origin threatened people while holding a knife.

The situation began around 15:30, when police officers were dispatched to the scene following information that a man inside an apartment had gone out onto the balcony shouting and making threats.

Two women were inside the apartment with him, and authorities initially believed they might be in danger, increasing concern about the development of the situation.
