Storms and snowfalls on the way.

Nothing like a bit of icy frozen sunshine to calm the nerves these days, but as flu cases are currently on the rise, the return of a storm network and snowfalls on the mountains is a cause for extra vigilance, but also hope that more is coming towards allievating the water shortage crisis.

Today's Met Office Forecast

A mild low pressure system is affecting the area, with overcast skies most of the day and light to moderate winds force three to four, locally force four to five, over slight seas.

Temperatures will rise to 17 degrees Celsius inland, 19 in coastal regions and 10 over the highest reaches of the Troodos mountains.

Isolated showers this evening, mainly in the west and north, with light to moderate winds, over moderate seas.

Temperatures will drop to seven degrees Celsius inland, 10 over southern and eastern coastal regions, 12 in the west anf north and two on the mountains, where frost will form.

Storm Network and Snowfalls Tomorrow and Wednesday.

Isolated showers and storms are forecast through the day tomorrow, with snowfalls or sleet over Troodos. A similar outlook is expected on Wednesday, perhaps intensifying a bit too. Temperatures will be dropping over the next couple of days, close to the seasonal average and will possibly continue in the same vein through to the weekend.

The depth of snow on Mount Olympus was 17 centimetres this morning.
