A minor quake was felt across many areas of the Limassol and Paphos districts just after midnight, in an area that has produced tremors of similar magnitude over the past year.

It was measured at 3.3 on the Richter scale by the Euromediterranean Seismological Centre.

The depth was estimated at 13 kilometres, with the epicentre being the village of Nata, 54 kilometres southwest of Limassol and 23 kilometres south of the city of Paphos.

No damages were reported, with the tremor mostly felt by residents of apartment buildings in the two coastal cities.

A quake measuring more than five on the richter scale late last year, off Paphos, caused significant damage, particularly in a number of historic buildings in the district, including the Ayios Neophytos and Chrysoroyiatissa monasteries.
