A liquor store in the Potamos Germasogeia area of Limassol has become the latest target in a string of arson attacks linked to the business interests of Russian entrepreneur Dmitry Punin. The incident adds to growing concern among authorities, following multiple acts of malicious damage reported over recent weeks.

According to police, at around 3.40am an unknown individual set fire to the entrance of a liquor store owned by the 40-year-old businessman, using flammable material. The blaze was extinguished by the Fire Service, while damage was caused to the shop’s glass frontage.

Pattern of repeated attacks

The latest incident follows a series of earlier arson attacks involving Punin’s property. On 27 November 2025, ultra-luxury vehicles including a Tesla, Lamborghini, Mercedes and Porsche, owned by the businessman, were set on fire while parked in a private, fenced area in the Mouttagiaka area. A private security guard was present at the location at the time.

More recently, on 8 December 2025, a close associate of Punin was also targeted, with vehicles belonging to the associate set ablaze in what police described as a malicious act.

Ongoing investigations

Police investigations remain ongoing, with authorities expressing serious concern over the motives behind the repeated attacks against the Russian businessman’s interests. No arrests have been announced so far, as investigators continue to examine whether the incidents are linked and what message may be intended by the perpetrators.
