Rain And Snow Forecast For Troodos As Weather Pattern Shifts

Showers expected in several areas, with snowfall possible at higher elevations, while temperatures remain near seasonal averages before rising later in the week.

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the area, bringing periods of increased cloud cover, isolated rainfall and the possibility of snow at higher elevations.

Tuesday

Temperatures are expected to reach around 16°C inland, approximately 18°C along the coast and about 6°C in the highest mountain areas. Periods of locally increased cloud cover may result in isolated showers, mainly in northern regions, mountainous areas and possibly the east, particularly during the afternoon. Snow or sleet is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos and locally in the higher mountain areas. Winds will initially blow mainly from the north to northeast, light to moderate inland at 3 to 4 Beaufort and moderate to strong along the coast at 4 to 5 Beaufort, later turning northwest to northeast and generally light to moderate. Sea conditions will range from slight to moderate, becoming temporarily slight in western and southern coastal areas during the afternoon.

Tonight

The weather will be partly cloudy to occasionally mainly cloudy, with isolated showers expected. Snow or sleet remains possible on the highest peaks of Troodos and locally in higher mountainous areas. Winds will blow from the northwest to northeast, light to moderate inland and moderate to strong along the coast. The sea will be slight to moderate. Temperatures will fall to around 7°C inland, about 9°C along the coast and near 2°C in the highest mountain areas, where frost is expected to form locally.

Wednesday

During the morning hours, locally increased cloud cover may produce isolated showers, with the possibility of snow or sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos and locally in higher mountainous areas. Conditions will gradually become mainly clear.

Thursday And Friday

On Thursday, the weather will be mostly clear with occasional local cloud cover. On Friday, conditions will be partly cloudy, with isolated showers possible, mainly in mountainous areas.

Temperatures are not expected to change significantly until Wednesday, remaining close to seasonal averages. A rise in temperatures is forecast for Thursday, with little change on Friday, bringing values slightly above the average climatic levels for the time of year.
