Cypriots’ reliance on social media — for communication, information and entertainment — is once again confirmed in the latest figures published on Thursday by the Statistical Service.

According to the findings of a dedicated survey, more than nine in ten people (93.6%) use the internet at least once a week. Usage gradually declines with age: from 98.5% among those aged 16–24 to 81.5% in the 55–74 group. Education level also plays a role, with higher-educated individuals using the internet far more frequently (98.9%) than those with lower education levels (75.9%).
