It was decision day for AKEL members, as they also chose their Paphos district parliamentary candidates in addition to the Kyrenia ballot earlier in the day.
Following a District Election Conference, five candidates were voted to represent the party in the May elections.
They include attorney Mariella Theofanous, a member of the Paphos municipal Council, 24 year old Andreas Nikolaou, one of the youngest candidates overall, an AKEL youth organisation official, Nicos Savvides, 53, a PEO labour union member, Yiorgos Skourou, 29, also a member of the AKEL youth organisation and 40 year old civil engineer Valentinos Fakontis, a sitting MP.
The candidates are subject to approval by the AKEL Central Committee expected to convene next week.
