Iran has prepared a shipping management mechanism for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, based on a pre‑planned route to be announced soon, the head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Committee, Ebrahim Azizi, said on Saturday.
Azizi added that only commercial vessels and those cooperating with Iran will benefit from the mechanism.
He also said that revenues from vessel transit will be collected for the specialised services to be provided under the same system.
