A US delegation led by CIA Director John Ratcliffe visited Havana on Thursday, where it held talks with senior officials at the Ministry of the Interior, according to a statement from the Cuban government.
“The two sides underlined their interest in developing bilateral cooperation between law enforcement agencies, for the benefit of both countries’ security, as well as regional and international stability,” the statement said.
The Cuban government also stressed to the US delegation that Cuba does not pose a threat to US national security.
Only a few days earlier, US President Donald Trump had announced plans for talks between Washington and Havana.
