Temperatures Hit 30°C with Strong Winds

A weak low pressure system is affecting the area.

Today, periods of increased high cloud will be observed. Initially, light dust will be present in the atmosphere but will soon subside. Winds will blow mainly south‑westerly to north‑westerly, light to moderate at force 3 to 4 Beaufort and occasionally locally strong at force 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough and locally up to rough. Temperatures will rise to 30°C inland, around 29°C on the southern and eastern coasts, around 25°C on the western and northern coasts and 21°C in the higher mountains.

Tonight, periods of increased high cloud are expected. Winds will blow mainly south‑westerly to north‑westerly, light and initially up to moderate, at force 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be up to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 16°C inland, around 18°C on the coasts and around 14°C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday, periods of increased high cloud will continue. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly and will remain close to seasonal averages.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the weather will at times be mostly cloudy, with local showers expected and, around midday and early afternoon, isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. Temperatures will drop on Wednesday to below average levels, while on Thursday no significant change is expected.
