As education continues to evolve in an increasingly interconnected world, more families are seeking schools that go beyond traditional learning and truly prepare students for the future.

The Falcon School, one of Cyprus’ long-established international schools, is proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) for students in Grades 7–11 (S1–S5), with registrations for the upcoming academic year now officially open.

The IBMYP is internationally recognised for developing students who are not only academically capable, but also independent thinkers, confident communicators, and globally minded young people. Unlike traditional programmes that focus heavily on memorisation and examinations alone, the MYP encourages students to understand concepts deeply, apply knowledge in real-life contexts, and develop the skills needed to thrive in university, careers, and modern society.

At The Falcon School, the IBMYP provides students with a broad and balanced education across subjects including Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, Individuals & Societies, Design, Arts, and Physical & Health Education. Students are encouraged to make connections between subjects, think critically, collaborate effectively, and reflect on their own learning.

One of the major advantages of the IBMYP is its emphasis on skills development. Students build strong communication, research, self-management, and problem-solving skills throughout the programme. These transferable skills help students become more resilient, organised, and adaptable, qualities increasingly valued by universities and employers worldwide.

The programme also places a strong focus on international mindedness and global awareness. Students explore real-world issues, different cultures, sustainability, ethics, and community engagement, helping them become compassionate and informed global citizens.

The Falcon School’s implementation of the IBMYP combines academic rigour with a supportive and student-centred environment. Small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and a strong pastoral system ensure that students are challenged academically while also being supported personally and emotionally during these important secondary school years.

The school is also continuing its IB journey, with plans for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the coming years, creating a clear pathway for students seeking a world-class international education.

The IBMYP helps students become independent learners who are confident, reflective, and prepared for the future. It encourages curiosity, creativity, and real understanding, rather than simply learning for tests. We are proud to offer a programme that develops the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally.
