Cyprus Stock Exchange Closes Higher on Thursday

The General Index rose by 0.43%, while trading value reached €280,275.17.

 

The Cyprus Stock Exchange ended Thursday’s session in positive territory, with the General Index closing at 285.99 points, up 0.43%.

Total trading value stood at €280,275.17. The FTSE/CySE 20 Index closed almost unchanged at 172.27 points, recording a marginal increase of 0.03%.

Among the sectoral indices, Investment Companies fell by 0.32%, while the Main Market rose by 0.50% and the Alternative Market by 0.18%. The Hotels index remained unchanged.

Bank of Cyprus attracted the highest investor interest, with transactions worth €209,600, closing at €9.40, up 0.37%. Demetra Holdings followed with €29,137 in trading value, closing at €1.51, down 0.33%, while Logicom recorded €15,080 in transactions and closed unchanged at €3.02. Cyprus Cement Public Company closed at €1.25, up 2.87%, with trading value of €8,999, while Louis Plc closed at €0.104, down 1.89%, on transactions worth €4,775.

Of the shares traded, seven moved higher, three declined and six remained unchanged. The number of transactions reached 122. The Cyprus Stock Exchange also announced the suspension of trading of the 13-week Treasury Bills, 2nd Issue, Series 2026, dated February 27, 2026 to May 29, 2026, with code TB13B26, from May 26 to May 28, inclusive, pending the clearing of all transactions ahead of their delisting.

The Treasury Bills will be delisted from the Cyprus Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository and Registry on May 29, 2026. The Exchange said the decision was taken to allow transaction clearing and to protect investors, in line with Article 183 of the Cyprus Securities and Stock Exchange Law.
