Construction Materials Prices Up 1.38% in April

Prices rose by 0.64% compared with March, while the index was 1% higher in the first four months of 2026 compared with the same period last year.

 

Construction materials prices recorded a small increase in April, according to figures released by the Statistical Service.

The Price Index of Construction Materials for April 2026 reached 120.67 points, based on 2021=100, marking a rise of 0.64% compared with the previous month.

Compared with April 2025, the index increased by 1.38%. By main product category, increases were recorded in electromechanical products, up 2.29%, metallic products, up 1.81%, and products made of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics, up 1.76%.

Prices also rose for minerals, by 1.59%, and mineral products, by 0.06%.

For the period January to April 2026, the index recorded an increase of 1% compared with the corresponding period of 2025.
