Authorities in Larnaca launched an operation on Tuesday morning to remove camper vans and vehicles parked illegally along a beach near the Larnaca Nautical Club, following complaints about access to the coastline.
The operation is being carried out by the Larnaca District Administration, with the support of the Municipality of Larnaca and the Police.
Beach access complaints
According to the report, complaints were submitted in recent weeks alleging that some owners of camper vans were preventing members of the public from accessing the beach.
The operation aims to remove all vehicles that have been installed illegally along the coastal area.
Further actions planned
Authorities are expected to carry out similar actions at a neighbouring beach where illegal makeshift structures have reportedly been erected.
A separate operation is also expected at a beach within the Pyla area, where camper vans have likewise been installed.
Multi-agency operation
The beach clearance operation is being coordinated by the Larnaca District Administration, with assistance from local authorities and law enforcement officers.
Officials have not announced how many vehicles are being removed as part of Tuesday's operation.
