A fire broke out on Thursday morning outside Tsireio Gymnasium in Limassol, a secondary school that sits adjacent to the motorway. According to images and video obtained by Politis, tyres were burning at the scene, sending thick black smoke rising into the sky.
The Fire Service responded promptly and extinguished the blaze before it had the chance to spread. As schools across Cyprus were closed today for the Ascension Day public holiday, no students or teachers were present at the time and no injuries were reported.
