Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Recorded Near Limassol

The tremor was recorded west of Limassol and felt across nearby urban areas.

The Geological Survey Department announced that an earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale was recorded by the department’s Seismological Network at 4pm on Wednesday.

The earthquake’s epicentre was located in the Episkopi area of Limassol district, approximately 14 kilometres west of Limassol city, at a focal depth of 15 kilometres.

The tremor was felt in Limassol and surrounding parts of the urban area.
