The Vivy Sabre, a small boat that took part in the Global Sumud Flotilla, remains anchored at the harbour of Kato Paphos, with crew members waiting for instructions on when it will depart.
The vessel arrived at Paphos harbour shortly after midnight on Monday. Its crew had sailed from a port in Sicily, after previously travelling to Marmaris on the coast of Asia Minor.
Along with around 50 other vessels, the Vivy Sabre had attempted to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Crew member Danielle Gallina alleged that while the boat was sailing in international waters, it came under attack by Israeli commandos.
According to Gallina, the Vivy Sabre had become separated from the rest of the flotilla because of technical problems before the Israeli raid and eventually managed to return to Paphos harbour.
One crew member was reportedly given medical treatment. According to information obtained by CNA, two of the crew members who had been on board the vessel returned to their home country on Tuesday night. They were two of the three Italians on the boat.
Also on board were another Italian national, a Spaniard, a Moroccan and a Mexican. The remaining crew members are currently still in Paphos, awaiting further instructions on the vessel’s departure.
