Paphos District Court on Monday issued a four-day remand order against a 27-year-old woman in connection with a case involving conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to murder and written threats to kill.
A 30-year-old man was also arrested in connection with the same case and has been in custody since Sunday under a five-day remand order. According to police, the case was reported to Paphos CID on Saturday, May 16, 2026, after which court arrest warrants were secured against two suspects, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
The 30-year-old was located and arrested in the early hours of Sunday by members of Paphos CID and was subsequently brought before Paphos District Court. Shortly before noon on the same day, the 27-year-old was also arrested by police officers in Paphos.
According to police sources, the alleged victim in the case is the 27-year-old woman’s former partner. He reportedly had access to messages exchanged between the woman and the 30-year-old, in which, according to the ongoing investigation, they allegedly discussed a plan to “get him out of the way”.
Although the couple had separated, there had reportedly continued to be friction between them. The same sources said the alleged victim continued to receive or have access to conversations involving his former partner because they had previously shared a mobile phone and, in some applications, his access had remained active. As a result, he allegedly read the conversations and messages exchanged by the two suspects.
In his statement, the 30-year-old allegedly admitted exchanging messages with the 27-year-old, but claimed he had only agreed with her in order to get closer to her and not with the intention of harming her former partner.
The authorities’ investigations are ongoing.
