Three boys aged 14 and 15 were arrested after two food delivery riders were attacked twice in Paphos with stones, sticks and glass bottles.

Three minors have been remanded for three days by the Paphos District Court in connection with an attack on two food delivery riders, police said.

Members of the Paphos CID arrested the three suspects, aged 14 and 15, on Thursday and Friday under court warrants. The arrests followed a complaint by two food delivery riders, aged 21 and 22, who reported that they were attacked at around 9:30pm on Saturday while they were in an area of Paphos.

According to the complaint, a group of people threw stones, pieces of wood and glass bottles at them. Some of the attackers were wearing hoods and face coverings, while one of them was allegedly holding a knife. The two riders fled the scene, while the attackers caused damage to their mopeds. Around an hour later, the same group allegedly located the two delivery riders at another location and attacked them again with stones and pieces of wood. The 22-year-old was injured in the leg. He received first aid and was later discharged.

As part of the investigation, police arrested a 15-year-old and two 14-year-olds. They were brought before the Paphos District Court on Friday, which issued a three-day remand order.

Paphos CID is continuing investigations.
