Tackling undeclared work and promoting fair labour mobility across Europe will be the focus of an international conference to be held in Larnaca on 12 and 13 May, organised by the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance in cooperation with the European Labour Authority (ELA). The event marks ten years since the establishment of the European Platform against Undeclared Work.
According to an official announcement, the conference will be attended by ministers, senior European Commission officials, representatives of EU member states, labour inspection authorities, social partners and European organisations.
The opening session will be addressed by the Executive Director of the European Labour Authority, Cosmin Boiangiu, and the Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Marinos Mousiouttas.
The programme will focus, among other issues, on the role of declared work as a key prerequisite for fair labour mobility and quality employment, strengthening cooperation among member states to combat undeclared work, and the exchange of good practices and experience in inspection, enforcement and administrative capacity building.
The conference will also include an assessment of the ten-year contribution of the European Platform against Undeclared Work, while an awards ceremony highlighting good practices promoted by the European Labour Authority will take place as part of the event.
