The School Board says damage at the school’s outdoor amphitheatre will be recorded and offenders referred to the authorities.

The Aradippou-Kellia-Troulloi School Board has installed surveillance cameras at Aradippou Lyceum following recent acts of vandalism at the school’s outdoor amphitheatre.

In a statement, the School Board strongly condemned the incidents, saying they caused damage to public property and degraded a space that belongs to the wider local community.

It said the camera system was installed at the outdoor amphitheatre to protect school facilities and ensure the proper operation and safety of the area.

According to the statement, any illegal act or damage caused on the premises will be recorded, while those responsible will be referred to the competent authorities. All relevant criminal procedures will be applied without exception, it added.

“The protection of public property is everyone’s responsibility,” the School Board said.

It also called on citizens, and young people in particular, to respect and protect spaces created for education, culture and the community.
