The ECB will not be “paralysed by hesitation”

The European Central Bank says it will not be “paralysed by hesitation” and can adjust its response depending on the scale and duration of the crisis.

The European Central Bank has several tools available to respond to the energy shock linked to the war in Iran, with measures to be adjusted depending on its scale and duration, ECB President Christine Lagarde said today.

The ECB will not be “paralysed by hesitation” and has a “graduated range of reaction options” regarding monetary policy, she said, without specifying what those options might be.
