Central Bank: Countercyclical Capital Buffer Remains at 1.5%

The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) has decided to maintain the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) at 1.5%, with the measure set to take effect from 14 January 2026.

According to the announcement, under the Macroprudential Supervision of Institutions Laws of 2015–2022, the CBC deemed it necessary to keep the CCyB at 1.5%, the same rate adopted following the CBC’s decision on 14 January 2025.
