Cyprus stepped up its outreach to the American travel market over the weekend, as the Deputy Ministry of Tourism took part in a leading international tourism exhibition in New York, aiming to position the island as a modern, high-quality and authentic destination for US travellers.
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus participated in the Travel & Adventure Show, held on January 24 and 25 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York.
The participation formed part of Cyprus’ broader strategy to enhance its international presence and strengthen its footprint in the particularly competitive American tourism market.
According to an official briefing, the main objective was to promote Cyprus as a contemporary, high-quality and authentic travel destination, while also informing the American public and tourism professionals about the wide range of experiences the island offers. These include culture and gastronomy, nature and beaches, as well as alternative and special-interest forms of tourism.
Through its presence at the exhibition, Cyprus sought to highlight the diversity of its tourism product and reinforce its appeal to travellers seeking experiences that combine heritage, lifestyle and natural beauty, beyond the traditional sun-and-sea model.
