Average gross monthly earnings in Cyprus rose by 4.9% in 2025, according to preliminary figures published on Monday by the Statistical Service.
The figures show that average gross monthly earnings for employees were estimated at €2,605 in 2025, compared with €2,483 in 2024. The increase was slightly lower than the 5.1% rise recorded in 2024.
Median gross monthly earnings stood at €1,968.
Fourth-quarter earnings
In the fourth quarter of 2025, average gross monthly earnings were estimated at €2,932, compared with €2,810 in the same quarter of 2024, marking an annual increase of 4.4%.
Seasonally adjusted average gross earnings also rose by 1.1% compared with the third quarter of 2025.
Average gross monthly earnings for men in the fourth quarter were estimated at €3,102, while for women they stood at €2,718. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, earnings increased by 4.2% for men and 4.5% for women.
Cypriot and non-Cypriot workers
Preliminary data on the distribution of employees by earnings group shows that the largest share of Cypriot workers, 42.8%, earned between €1,500 and €2,999 per month.
Among non-Cypriot employees, the largest share, 47.7%, earned less than €1,500 per month.
The figures also show differences by gender. Women were more concentrated in the earnings group below €1,500, at 38.8%, while the largest share of men, 40.5%, earned between €1,500 and €2,999.
Overall, non-Cypriot employees were more heavily represented in the lower earnings brackets, particularly below €1,500. Cypriot employees were more concentrated in the middle and higher income groups, although non-Cypriot workers recorded a higher share in the top category of €6,000 or more.
