Limassol Carnival: What You Need to Know as Roads Close on Sunday

Traffic arrangements in place from 08:00 on Makarios III Avenue, with celebrations culminating in an open-air dance at the Old Port

Authorities in Limassol will implement traffic measures on Sunday, 22 February 2026, ahead of the grand carnival parade scheduled for 13:00 on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, featuring floats and marching groups.

From the Enaerios traffic lights to the Agios Nikolaos roundabout, the road will remain closed from 08:00 due to the assembly of carnival floats.

In addition, the stretch from the Agios Nikolaos roundabout to the junction of Makarios III Avenue and Apostolou Varnava Street will be closed from 11:00 until midnight for the duration of the parade.

Drivers are urged to follow the instructions of on-duty police officers and municipal traffic wardens, and to make use of both municipal and private parking areas.

The carnival festivities will culminate in a large open-air carnival dance at Limassol Old Port Square at 21:00.

Detailed traffic arrangements

From the Enaerios traffic lights to the Agios Nikolaos roundabout, the road will remain closed from 08:00 due to the gathering of floats.

From the Agios Nikolaos roundabout to the junction of Makarios III Avenue and Apostolou Varnava Street, the road will remain closed from 11:00 until 24:00 for the parade.
